Ten x Ten

A collaboration between Chicago artists and musicians

Ten x Ten develops the creative relationship between bands & printmakers beyond show posters. Visual artists invited a musician or band to join the project by recording an original song. Artists then created a 10″ x 10″ print inspired by the song they commissioned.

Prints by Dee Clements, Sanya Glisic, Kathleen Judge, Angee Lennard, Onsmith, Colin Palombi, Joey Potts, Grant Reynolds, Tom Smith, and Sonnenzimmer. Songs by Locks, Max Alexander, The Late Model Races, Strictly Jug Nuts, Sky Event, Netherfriends, Nones, Christine Kick, Blasted Diplomats, and Jason Adasiewicz.

Spring 2011 Residency: Applications due January 5

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

The deadline to apply for the position of Spudnik Press’ Spring 2011 Resident Artist is quickly approaching. So we encourage you to grab a mug of hot cocoa and flush out exactly how you would spend 3 months in a print shop. The residency comes with a stipend for materials, 24-hour access to the shop, light support from all of us who use the studio, and assistance coordinating an exhibition of your work when it’s all over. Applicants are expected to have printmaking experience and feel comfortable in the medium they applying to work in.

This residency is supported by previous Resident Artists through the sale of their artwork. To this end, at the conclusion of the residency, artwork is divided approximately 50/50 between the artist and Spudnik Press. The artist retains all proofs and unfinished prints.

The application is not too long, a good exercise to help with planning a larger project, and can be downloaded by clicking right here! If you have specific questions, don’t hesitate to write at angee@spudnikpress.com.
