Multi-Level Etching
This class begins with basic line etching and moves to creating prints with multiple plates. Processes like chine colle, aquatint, soft ground, and soap ground will be introduced, and demos in the latter part of the class will be in response to where students are at. Beginning students need no prior printing experience. Students with intaglio experience can revisit the foundational skills with a more nuanced understanding of the process, and move on to independent projects, getting feedback and help along the way.
Prerequisites: None
Authorizations: This class will authorize students to for Intaglio, the Conrad Press and the Aquatint Airbrush. Students may continue to use our facilities after the class, during Open Studio times or by appointment.
