Drink & Draw: October 2016– Sticky Politics

With the November elections quickly approaching, Spudnik Press invites you to unite your political passions with your creative genius by joining us for an evening of art-making and advocacy. At this particular Drink & Draw we will provide plenty of STICKER PAPER for you to draw on!

In collaboration with our guest artists- Darryl Holliday, E.N. Rodriguez, and Jamie Hibdon of Illustrated Press- Spudnik will create a friendly environment for all to discuss and express their desires for change through mark-making. We’ll stock the studio with a variety of drawing materials and paper choices–including sticker paper–however, guests are more than welcome to bring personal materials to use and share.

Not interested in politics? No worries – come prepared to doodle whatever you like!

Illustrated Press is a multimedia production collective specializing in illustrated journalism and other storytelling endeavors. The Chicago-based group of professional journalists and illustrators fuses narrative non-fiction with shoe-leather reportage, all set to finely tuned sequential art.

Drink and Draw is a low-key drop-in social workshop devoted to drawing practices. There are no pretensions, no prerequisites, and newcomers are always welcome. Bring a sketchbook and basic drawing materials, and invite your friends! Drink & Draw occurs the first Wednesday of every other month and features a special theme and a guest artist. Admission to Drink & Draw is a $10 suggested donation. The event is BYOB, but we do have some wine and beer available with a donation.
