Intro to Printmaking

The term printmaking refers to processes in which multiples are made by pressing ink to paper. In this class, students will survey many types of printmaking, including screenprinting, letterpress, monoprinting, intaglio, and pronto plate lithography. Additionally, students will be introduced to self-publishing through a generative writing project producing in a class publication. The objective of this class is to allow students to experiment with as many types of printing as possible. Intro to Printmaking can act as either a general introduction to everything Spudnik has to offer, or a refresher course for artists who have previous experience. Throughout the class, students will create a set of cards or fine art prints that incorporate each of the learned processes.
