DESCRIPTION:Beginning with WTCC Art Walk programming on Friday evening and continuing with our lively celebration on Saturday\, join us for a weekend full of festivities and print nerdiness galore! From a Member Market to outdoor games to demonstrations from our new Teaching Artist Cohort\, we’ve got a lot planned. Now\, all we need is YOU to come and join in the fun! \nWe’re excited to be hosting this community celebration during the 2022 West Town Art Walk\, so you’ll have opportunities to connect with Spudnik friends old and new! Learn more about our Friday programming. \nMember Showcase | Saturday 12-6pm\nCurious to see what Spudnik’s Members have been making? Now is the time! Beginning on Friday evening for the WTCC Art Walk\, our Annex walls will be covered in Member work. The Member Showcase will open to our community and visitors for the Art Walk on Friday from 5-8pm\, and remain open throughout the our community celebration on Saturday.  \nWant to share your work in the showcase? All active Spudnik Members are welcome! Sign up here.  \nMember Market | Saturday 12-6pm\nStop by the studio and shop local from a selection of the many artists who work out of the Spudnik Press studios. Come for the prints\, stay for the party! Vendors TBA shortly. \nAre you an active Spudnik Member and want to register as a vendor? We’ve still got some slots open! Register here. \nPrintmaking Demonstrations | Saturday 1-6pm\nPublic Pulp: Pulling Sheets in the Parking Lot with Angela Davis Fegan | Sat\, 12pm \nCommunity make and take: come and learn about how natural fibers are transformed from fashion\, to pulp\, to the ideal printing surface. Pull sheets or use a deckle box to witness hydrogen bonds through paper production and leave with a sheet of handmade recycled denim paper to take home. Durational demonstration. Participants are asked to leave their wet sheets behind for the next person to take and leave with an already dry sheet made by the previous participants\, bonding us as a community. All labor is collective and paper making is a community practice. This demo will be held outdoors in the Hubbard Street Lofts parking lot. \nWatercolor Monotypes with Serena Hocharoen | 1pm \nIn this interactive demonstration\, participants will play with collage\, stencil\, and watercolor techniques to make painterly monoprint compositions with a variety of textures\, colors\, and layers. This demo will be held inside the studio\, masks are required.  \nPaper Marbling with Millicent Kennedy | 3pm \nVisitors are welcome to observe and participate in making marbled paper with Millicent. Finished paper can be taken home and used on your own projects at home or in a future class.This demo will be held outdoors in the Hubbard Street Lofts parking lot.  \nPainterly Screenprinting with Mariah Joyce | 5pm\n \nJoin Mariah for a painterly screenprinting demo focused on pulling monoprints with water soluable crayons and transparent base. Visitors will be encouraged to participate; screens will be available for passersby to make marks in the screens and pull prints. This demo will be held outdoors in the Hubbard Street Lofts parking lot.  \nMember Skill Share | Saturday\, All Day\nCyanotype Postcards with Catherine Norcott | 12pm \nThis demo will be held outdoors in the Hubbard Street Lofts parking lot. \nMulti-layer Screenprints with Dave Krzeminski | 4pm \nThis demo will be held inside the studio\, masks are required. \nCommunity Raffle | Saturday\, 5pm\nParticipate in our raffle for some exciting Spudnik prizes! Tickets can be purchased throughout the day and will be drawn at 5pm. You do not need to be physically present to win. Stay tuned for updates 😉 \nOutdoor Activities & Games | Saturday\, 12pm-6pm\nWant to end your summer as a cornhole champion? Or perhaps you’d rather chalk-it-up and create the ultimate Spudnik hopscotch? Either way\, have fun in these fleeting days of sun in our parking lot before making your way inside to see what’s going on in the studio. Outdoor activities will be running throughout the day\, to be complemented (of course) by some much-needed beverages. Bring your shades\, we’ll see you there! \nOpen House & Studio Tours | Saturday\, 12-6pm\nBeginning on Friday evening for the WTCC Art Walk and continuing on Saturday\, Member Volunteers and staff will be running studio tours. Unless specifically requested\, proof of vaccination presented at public events will not be kept on file. Medical and religious exemptions must be requested in advance. When indoors at Spudnik\, masks are required.  \nThis event is for everyone!
