SUMMARY:Drink & Draw: Exquisite Comics! with Wynn Droz
DESCRIPTION:Come have a drink with us! Join us for Drink & Draw! \nThis month\, we’re making collaborative\, Frankensteined comic strips—and nobody gets to see the plot until the very end. \nWe’ll start with 20 minutes to draw as many wordless three-panel comics as possible. Next\, we’ll take 10 minutes to write a pile of standalone speech bubbles. Then\, everyone will pair up panels and dialogue created by other participants to assemble brand-new comic strips. Once the stories are put together\, we’ll compile everyone’s finished pages into a Risographed zine. \nRSVP encouraged so we can plan accordingly — drop-ins also welcome. \nWynn Droz is a Dallas-born Chicago-based Cartoonist and Illustrator. As an avid reader of superhero and horror comics themself\, they seek to immerse readers in the panels of their work. Whether it be the mundane or grandiose\, Wynn wants readers to find a part of themselves in the pages of a comicbook\, just as they have. Wynn has a Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration from Columbia College Chicago. \nDrink & Draw is a low-key\, drop-in social workshop devoted to drawing practices. There are no pretensions\, no prerequisites\, and newcomers are always welcome. Drink & Draw occurs on the second Wednesday of every month and features a special theme and a guest artist. Admission is a suggested donation of $10–$20. We provide the drinks — you just bring yourself (and your friends\, and your family; children are always welcome). \nDrink & Draw is generously sponsored by The Long Drink
