DESCRIPTION:Guest Artist: Emma Punch\nIf there’s one thing we are all learning right now\, it’s how to show our love from a distance. This workshop is for showering affection on all of our loved ones—friends\, children\, family\, lovers\, secret crushes—through the delightful tradition of sending Valentines. \nArtist Emma Punch will inspire guests with  her own collaged Post-It valentines and examples from different eras and styles. From nostalgic and silly to edgy and political\, a handmade\, personalized Valentine is a wonderful way to celebrate the people in your life. Maybe you’ll make traditional\, papercut doilies that open onto a heart with a cursive message. Or maybe you will get inspired by vintage Valentines\, clever puns\, cute cartoons\, or edgier phrases and risqué illustrations.  You’ll also learn to make personalized envelopes that fit custom sized cards. Don’t have that classic red and pink construction paper? Collage old magazines\, wrapping paper\, or junk mail! He will show you how to transform a humble potato into beautifully carved relief stamps\, designed around a culinary or springtime theme. Don’t have printing inks lying around at home? No problem. Dutes will share how to make use of natural pigments found on your spice rack. These small-scale prints are ideal for repeat patterning on cards\, journal covers\, wrapping paper\, napkins\, or even for printing edible decorations on your plates and saucers for a fancy meal. \nAbout the Artist\nDutes Miller’s collages\, artists books and phallic sculptures examine the spaces where the artist’s inner life\, queer subcultures and mass media intersect.
