Elijah Burgher lives in Chicago, where he teaches at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His drop cloth paintings and colored pencil drawings have been shown in a number of group and solo exhibitions at Western Exhibitions, Chicago; 2nd Floor Projects, San Francisco; Cabinet, London; Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, Rotterdam; and his work was included in the 2014 Whitney Biennial in New York. In 2011, Burgher was awarded a Fire Island Artist Residency and a Residency from Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. He received his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2004, and is represented by Western Exhibitions in Chicago.
