This poster was produced and acquired in September 1984 in the former Soviet Union. At the time it was made, the leader of the country was Konstantin Chernenko. He was the leader for only slightly more than a year, from February 1984 – March 1985. Many of the posters that the nation produced were specific to the leadership in power at the time, so this one was only available for short time, making it rather rare. It has been preserved and stored archivally since being imported to the US.
