Drink & Draw [VIRTUAL]: Stitched Embellishments for Paper & Prints

This April, we’re dedicating our Drink & Draw series to stitching! Join us for one or both sessions to try out various ways to embellish paper or fabric with a needle, thread, and other textile materials.

Guest Artist: Breanna Robinson

Sewing on paper is a fun and easy way to add extra dimension, texture, and allure to prints, drawings, and cards. For people who love process, the act of sewing can bring an extra step of loving care to existing creation. Hand sewing on blank paper can also be used to create fully thread-based work.

Artist Breanna Robinson and owner of Nanette Home “Exquisite Cushions” uses embroidery, trim, beads, and other embellishments to add sculptural elements and sensory appeal to her works on paper. At this Drink & Draw, she will share simple embellishing  techniques for use on paper, including basic decorative stitches  and how to add decorative borders, bling, and imagery. No prior sewing experience is necessary, just some kind of needle and thread and the paper you would like to embellish. All of these techniques can also be used for any sewing projects using fabric.
